Ex-Phoenician Shows The World What's Possible!

DarynKagan.com has become a daily destination for thousands of Internet users who seek news stories that inspire.   Created and hosted by Daryn Kagan, Daryn Kagan.com is an inspirational online community that features a daily web cast of stories that, "Show the World What is Possible."  This isn't a "happy news," site.  It is more focused than that.  I would call it "hopeful" news.

Launched in November 2006, the Atlanta Journal Constitution described DarynKagan.com as "a lively gathering spot," while the Boston Globe noted DarynKagan.com is "bucking the media tide," with its "emphasis on stories that illustrate the triumph of the human spirit." Daryn is spreading her inspirational storytelling across many media platforms.  My mission and the motto of the website is to "Show the World What Is Possible!" one story at a time. DarynKagan.com has no political or religious affiliation.

Her first book, "What's Possible!" will be published by Meredith Books in April 2008.  Do you think your recognize Daryn?   Yes - she is the face familiar to many Phoenix and world television viewers who was once a Phoenix KTVK-TV reporter and more recently a CNN anchor for 12 years.

Navigate to www.darynkagan.com to subscribe to her daily email containing an inspiring story, or Daryn's Blog to feel a warmth come over you as you read the many quick-read inspirational stories.

You may also contribute inspiring stories you wish to share by going to Daryn's Tell Me Your Story page.

Digital TV Transition and the Coupon Program

What is the digital television transition?
At midnight on February 17, 2009, all full-power television stations in the United States will stop broadcasting in analog and switch to 100% digital broadcasting. Digital broadcasting promises to provide a clearer picture and more programming options and will free up airwaves for use by emergency responders.

What is the TV Converter Box Coupon Program?
Congress created the TV Converter Box Coupon Program for households wishing to keep using their analog TV sets after February 17, 2009. The Program allows U.S. households to obtain up to two coupons, each worth $40, that can be applied toward the cost of eligible converter boxes.

A TV connected to cable, satellite or other pay TV service does not require a TV converter box from this program.

Consumers have a variety of options. Options to explore include:
  1. Keep your existing analog TV and purchase a TV converter box. A converter
box plugs into your TV and will keep it working after Feb. 17, 2009, or
  2. Connect to cable, satellite or other pay service, or
  3. Purchase a television with a digital tuner.

OUT OF AFRICA WILDLIFE PARK began as a research project, which Dean and Prayeri Harrison initiated in their own home over twenty-five years ago. Today, Out of Africa is a successful wildlife park visited by thousands each year.

Wildlife Park Adventures

Get ready for real adventure including up-close and personal encounters with beautiful, exotic animals. Make sure to have your camera ready because you'll have many opportunities to take pictures of your adventure.

 Akina and Cubs

Serengeti Safari*
On the 45 minute SERENGETI SAFARI, you'll experience the heart of Africa in the heart of Arizona. This is an authentic African Photo Safari with expert park guides. While riding in a safari vehicle, you can expect personal encounters with giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and more. We provide treats so that you can feed the animals and maybe receive a gentle kiss from a giraffe. On nearby hills, you may spot prides of lions or other big cats overlooking their domain and the prey animals you are among. It's like Africa - only closer. (Limited handicap accessibility.)

 Wildlife Preserve*
An educational tram or trolley takes you on an hour-long tour of the WILDLIFE PRESERVE. Unobstructed photo platforms provide excellent photo opportunities of lions, tigers, wolves, hyena, and other predators that roam in large, natural habitats. It's like seeing them in the wild. You can also walk, at your leisure, among the Preserve's predator habitats. Often you will see staff inside interacting and answering questions about the animals. Tours run throughout the day. (Handicap accessible.)
   Prayeri and giraffe
 Black leopard    Predator Feed*
Follow our animal caretakers on a PREDATOR FEED as they throw 800 pounds of raw food to eagerly waiting carnivores. This is an opportunity to see how large animals, such as lions and tigers, eat. This takes place Sunday, Wednesday and Friday at 3:00pm. On Predator Feed days, the last Wildlife Preserve Tour departs at 2:00pm. (Handicap accessible.)
 Giant Snake Show*
Wrap-up with the world's largest species of snakes: Anacondas, Pythons and Boas! With the help of a Park Caretaker, you'll be allowed to touch, pet and even hold some of these wild, slithering reptiles. Great photo opportunities with your friends and family.Shows are Thursday and Saturday at 3:00 PM
